This package has been designed for 07 days/06 nights however, we are more than willing to customize it to better suit your requirements.

Day 1 – Colombo - Kandy

On arrival, the clients will be met by a George Steuart chauffeur guide and transferred to the Age-Old city of Kandy. En-route Visit Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage and The Millennium Elephant Foundation where you can interact with Elephants.

ELEPHANT ORPHANAGE - Near Kegalle on the Colombo Kandy road is the Pinnawela Elephant orphanage, a riverside sanctuary which cares for elephants displaced from wild habitats. The Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage, established in 1975, commenced with seven orphans. Today some of these orphans enjoy the fortune of seeing their grandchildren born in the same location. With the aid of local and foreign elephant experts, Pinnawela initiated a scientific captive-breeding programme for elephants. The orphanage is home to hundreds of injured and abandoned elephants who are looked after with much affection. The elephants at the orphanage are bathed daily in a river located nearby.

THE MILLENNIUM ELEPHANT FOUNDATION, established in 1999, is the only charity in Sri Lanka for captive elephants, MEF is supported by club concept which opened in 1979. MEF was the first place in Sri Lanka to offer bareback elephant riding without using howdah/seat which is extremely bad for elephants.  This would be the best place to interact with elephants in a safe and responsible way for both the person and elephant, whilst learning about the plight of Asian elephants.
