Sri Lankan Heritage Tour

This comprehensive tour enables you to explore most sites the island has to offer in terms of ancient culture, sites, experiences and even go on safari, at a leisurely pace. Sri Lanka has a remarkable variety of sights and experiences on offer for a small island. If you have an interest in culture and nature and do not mind a certain amount of travelling in order to see as much as possible, this itinerary is very much recommended.

Day 1

Arrive and transfer to Anuradhapura the capital of the North Central province, the ruins of Anuradhapura are one of South Asia’s most evocative sights. The sprawling complex contains a rich collection of archaeological and architectural wonders.

Day 2 

Explore the UNESCO World heritage sites of Anuradhapura. Overnight stay in Anuradhapura.

Day 3

After breakfast travel to Sigiriya, en-route stop at Habarana for an optional Elephant ride. PM climb the Sigiriya Rock. Overnight stay in Sigiriya.

Day 4

Morning take village tours in a bullock cart ride followed by visit to local village house and see how a typical local meal is prepared before you have your own taste with the locals. 

Day 5

After breakfast transfer to Kandy, en-route stop at Dambulla rock cave temple, spice garden in Matale for optional lunch stop. PM explore the Kandy city at your own space.

Day 6 

Explore the Kandy city visiting the Peradeniya Botanical Garden, Arts & craft center, Gem lapidary, PM relax by the pool side before your head to the town to watch the cultural dance show in the evening.

Day 7 

After breakfast checkout and travel to the tea growing Hill country, en-route visit a Tea Factory in Mackwoods Labookellie tea factory. PM explore the Nuwara Eliya town and you also have the option of playing a round of Golf at the 18 hole Golf Club.

Day 8 

After breakfast checkout and travel to Haputale this journey will be very exciting as you take the train from Nanu Oya/ Nuwara Eliya to Haputale in the afternoon. This trip will be heading further to the tea growing hill stations and breathtaking views of the valleys and landscapes. Overnight stay in Haputale or Ella.

Day 9

After breakfast checkout and travel Deep South to Yala. En-route visit to Buduruwagala, PM at the hotel for relax evening. Night in Tissa or Yala.

Day 10 

After an early breakfast visit to Kataragama to experiences a morning Hindu ceremony a sacred pilgrimage for several religions.  PM jeep safari in the Yala National Park.

Day 11

After breakfast checkout and travel to South coast Hikkaduwa via Galle.

Day 12

After breakfast take boat trip in the Madu River and evening you have the optional to explore the Galle Dutch fort a UNESCO World heritage site.

Day 13 

Relax by the beach.

Day 14

After breakfast departure to Airport.
