Kitulgala - Haven for Adventurers

Synonymous with white water rafting, Kitulgala, Sri Lanka is situated three hours away from Colombo. Belonging to the wet zone, the region made beautiful with the wide and shallow banks of the Kelani River. History

Kitulgala is known for being a seamless adventure hub. It started fostering a reputation, primarily for white water rafting in the early nineties. Featured in the Hollywood blockbuster The Bridge on the River Kwai, Kitulgala was made famous for its inherent splendour. The film starred internationally acclaimed movie stars such as Willia Holden, Alec Guinness and Jack Hawkins.

The Belilena Cave

A mesmerizing site for the adventure thirsty holidaymaker, the Belilena Cave is poised on a steep hill. The cave is of great anthropological and prehistoric importance. The 16,000-year-old skeletal remains of the Homo Sapiens Balangodensis or the Balangoda Man had been found here.
